In this review, effect of hot environment on CHI-induced brain pathology is discussed.
In addition, whether nanodelivery of oxiracetam together with neprilysin and monoclonal antibodies (mAb) to amyloid beta peptide and p-tau could lead to superior neuroprotection in CHI is explored.
Our results show that co-administration of oxiracetam with neprilysin and mAb to AβP and p-tau significantly induced superior neuroprotection following CHI in hot environment, not reported earlier.

A Meta-Analysis of Au/Polypropionic Acid Nanoparticles Loaded with Olacetam for the Treatment of Vascular Cognitive Impairment

Based on the current clinical evidence, olacetam is more effective and safer than alternatives in the treatment of vascular cognitive dysfunction.

The results of the meta-analysis showed that compared with placebo and other medications, oxiracetam significantly improved the mental status of patients, Concise Mental State Checklist score [mean difference (MD)= 5.29, P < 0.01] and Montreal Cognitive Assessment score (MD = 4.32, P < 0.01).
The Barthel Index demonstrated that oxiracetam significantly improved the quality of the daily life of patients (MD = 18, P < 0.01), but there was no difference between olacetam and placebo or other medications in the rating of activities of daily living (ADLs).
The total effective rate of olacetam was significantly higher than that of other treatments (P < 0.01).

This rct examined the effects of Oxiracetam.

The LS mean difference of the L-oxiracetam was significantly higher than the placebo group (8.97, 95% CI 5.69,12.26; P < 0.001; Cohen's d = 0.48 [95% CI: 0.26,0.69]) and the oxiracetam group (4.54, 95% CI 1.85,7.23).
No significant safety concerns were reported.
Despite limitations such as loss to follow-up, the findings of this study provide important evidence for the clinical management of cognitive dysfunction following TBI.

[Effect of early acupuncture on cognitive function in patients with vascular dementia after cerebral infarction]

Early acupuncture could improve cognitive function and activities of daily living in patients with VD after cerebral infarction, its mechanism may be related to improving the blood flow velocity of MCA, promoting blood circulation, and improving cerebral perfusion.

The total effective rate was 89.8% (53/59) in the acupuncture combined with medication group, which was superior to 76.3% (45/59) in the western medication group (P<0.01).

Clinical efficacy and safety of nicergoline combined with oxiracetam in the treatment of vascular cognitive impairment

[Randomized clinical trials of early acupuncture treatment of limb paralysis in traumatic brain injury patients and its mechanism]

Early acupuncture treatment can significantly improve the TBI patient's limb motor function and daily life activities, which may be related with its effects in reducing the inflammation and increasing BDNF and NGF levels.

After the treatment, the GCS score on day 28, FMA and ADL-BI scores on day 28 and 60 were significantly increased in both medication and acupuncture plus medication groups in comparison with their own pre-treatment (P<0.05).
The focal volume values of the injured brain were significantly decreased on day 14 and 28 in both groups compared with their own pre-treatment (P<0.05).
Compared with pre-treatment, the levels of plasma IL-6 on day 3, 7 and 14 were significant decreased, and those of plasma BDNF and NGF on day 3, 7 and 14 considerably increased in both groups in comparison with their own pre-treatment (P<0.05).
